How to stand out from the crowd when contacting College Coaches
May 18, 2020
One question I’m asked when I’m speaking in High Schools, is “how do I get a Coach to respond to me?” One thing to keep in mind is that College coaches are bombarded by hundreds of emails and phone calls. I suggest utilizing technology to your advantage to stand out from the masses. A brief introductory email showing the coach you know something about them, their program and institution along with short video showcasing your skills is a great start. Don’t send a full (game/match/meet/contest) video in your first email because chances are they are not going to watch the entire video anyway. Wait until asked to send more.
