Introducing the PrepSearch App: Your Pathway to College Athletics
I’m excited to share that the PrepSearch App is now available! After a few delays and hiccups in the last year, I felt it was the perfect time to reflect on the personal journey that led to the creation of this innovative platform.
Back in 2007, when I founded PrepSearch, my primary goal was to connect aspiring student-athletes across all sports with college coaches. This mission is deeply personal to me. I remember my own recruiting journey with my dad, an experience filled with challenges, and one that lacked the digital tools we have today. That motivation has fueled my passion for creating a platform that opens doors for young athletes in all sports.
The Evolution of Recruiting
When I started PrepSearch in 2007, the recruiting process was relatively straightforward. Aspiring athletes reached out to colleges, often with the help of their high school coaches. However, the landscape has changed dramatically. With the rise of AAU, club sports, and travel teams, high school coaches no longer play the pivotal role they once did. Today, the digital world, including social media, websites, and apps has transformed how athletes connect with coaches.
Now, dozens of apps exist to help athletes promote themselves, and I often advise my clients to utilize multiple platforms to maximize their exposure. However, most apps tend to focus on specific sports. This is where the PrepSearch App stands out. I took a bold step in developing a platform that caters to all sports, bringing coaches and athletes together in one convenient space.
Why PrepSearch?
While many recruiting apps offer limited free access and then pressure users to upgrade, I believe in a different approach. My goal with PrepSearch is to eliminate barriers and ensure every athlete, regardless of sport, has the chance to connect with college coaches, without the need for costly subscriptions or upgrades. With PrepSearch, there’s no pay-to-play model; all athletes have equal opportunities to be discovered.
In the coming weeks, I’ll delve deeper into the app’s features and benefits and explain why every prospective student-athlete, starting from their freshman year, should incorporate the PrepSearch App into their recruiting strategy.
